and I
| Nanny and I is about a little girl’s bus trip to visit
her grandmother. Every day they enjoy simple pleasures together: singing,
painting, shopping, and picnicking in the beautiful Vermont countryside. The
colorful illustrations capture the adventures and tender moments that bond the
child to her wheelchair-bound grandmother. In their relationship, Nanny's
disability is totally unimportant. Love sees beyond these physical differences. |

The story depicts the child’s sorrow when she has to say goodbye. However,
Nanny surprises her granddaughter with a simple and unique gift that provides
the emotional strength needed to rise above her grief at their parting. The
child begins to realize that goodbye is not always an ending and that love is
